StandFree No-Ladder Lighting System

Still climbing ladders or working around light stands every time you need to change the height of a studio light?

The TogDrop® StandFree Lighting System gives you another way to position and adjust your lighting while keeping traditional light stand legs off your studio floor.

Using a StandFree Adjustable Extension Rod, the system allows you to raise and lower your light from the floor. Choose either a Metal Wall or Upright Tension Pole mounting option based on your studio setup.

Adjust your light from the floor

The StandFree Adjustable Extension Rod gives you control over the height of your light without requiring a ladder.

When you need to make a lighting change during a session, you can lower the light, make your adjustment, and reposition it without bringing another stand into your shooting area.

This can make lighting changes easier during back-to-back sessions while keeping more of your studio floor available for clients, sets, and the way you move while photographing.

Choose your mounting option

Metal Wall

Choose the Metal Wall option to connect your StandFree Lighting System to a Vertical Inline Magnetic Base mounted on a compatible metal wall surface.

Need the materials for installation? An optional Metal Wall Lighting System Installation Kit is available and can be added to your order.

The installation kit provides the modified 16-gauge metal strip and mounting hardware needed to create the mounting surface for your Vertical Inline Magnetic Base.

Upright Tension Pole

Choose the Upright Tension Pole option to attach your StandFree Lighting System to a compatible upright tension pole using the included Pole Adapter.

This gives you a lighting mounting option when a compatible metal wall mounting surface isn’t available or you prefer to use your existing pole setup.

How it fits into your setup

The StandFree Lighting System connects to a Vertical Inline Magnetic Base for the Metal Wall version or a Pole Adapter for the Upright Tension Pole version.

The StandFree Bar Holder connects the adjustable extension rod to the mounting system.

The adjustable extension rod allows you to raise and lower the light from the floor, giving you access to your lighting position without using a ladder or traditional floor stand.

In a real session

You need to change the height of your light in the middle of a session.

Instead of pulling out a ladder or working around another light stand, lower the StandFree extension rod, make your adjustment, reposition the light, and keep shooting.

For photographers working in smaller studios, removing another stand from the floor can also give you more usable space around your set.

If you choose the Metal Wall version, you may also add the optional Metal Wall Lighting System Installation Kit to your order.

The kit creates the compatible metal mounting surface needed for the Vertical Inline Magnetic Base.
