Hair Light Lighting Package-Horizontal Movements

Lighting consistency shouldn’t depend on adding another stand behind your subject—or limit you to one fixed position.

The TogDrop® Hair Light Package gives you a dedicated wall-mounted lighting position with horizontal movement, allowing you to reposition your light side to side along the metal wall strip while keeping another light stand off your studio floor.

While it works especially well for a hair light positioned above and behind your subject, the system isn’t limited to one lighting purpose. The horizontal movement allows you to position the light where your subject, set, or session needs it.

Move your lighting position horizontally

The Horizontal Inline Magnetic Base attaches to a compatible horizontal metal wall strip and can be repositioned side to side along the strip.

This gives you the ability to change the horizontal position of your light while keeping the mounting point on the wall and traditional light stand legs off the floor.

The Light Body with Stem provides the mounting point for your light.

Together, they create an adjustable wall-mounted photography lighting system that gives you horizontal positioning without taking up additional floor space.

More than a hair light

A hair light positioned above and slightly behind your subject can create separation and help define your subject against the background—which is where this package gets its name.

But that isn’t the only way you can use it.

Because the system gives you horizontal movement, you can use the mounting position for a hair light, accent light, separation light, or another studio light that needs to move side to side.

How it fits into your setup

The Horizontal Inline Magnetic Base attaches to a compatible horizontal metal wall strip.

To change the horizontal position of your lighting, release the magnetic base, move it along the strip, and secure it at the new position.

The Light Body with Stem provides the mounting point for your light.

This gives you a simple way to change the side-to-side position of your light while keeping the mounting system on the wall and your floor open.

In a real session

Your hair light is positioned for one portrait setup, but your next set or subject is positioned farther to one side.

Instead of moving a floor stand behind your subject, reposition the Horizontal Inline Magnetic Base along the metal wall strip.

And if the next setup calls for that light to serve a different purpose, you’re not limited to using it only as a hair light.
