Ceiling Mounted Light System

Light stands take up valuable floor space and always seem to be where you need to walk.

The TogDrop® Ceiling Mounted Light System moves your light overhead, helping you reclaim floor space and create a cleaner shooting area without another light stand in the way.

Choose your ceiling type—Drop Ceiling or Drywall Ceiling—and then choose the Swivel or Non-Swivel option based on where you plan to position your light.

Choose Swivel or Non-Swivel

The difference comes down to where your light will be positioned and how you plan to use it.

Swivel Ceiling Mount

Choose the Swivel Ceiling Mount when you plan to position your light lower in the room using a compatible adjustable extension rod.

The swivel does not adjust the height or position of your light. Instead, it adds an important safety feature by allowing movement at the ceiling mounting point if the lowered light or extension rod is accidentally bumped.

This makes the Swivel option the better choice when your light extends farther down into the working area of your studio.

Compatible adjustable extension rods are available from third-party suppliers and are purchased separately.

Non-Swivel Ceiling Mount

Choose the Non-Swivel Ceiling Mount when your light will stay close to the ceiling and you do not plan to lower it into the room with an extension rod.

With the light positioned close to the ceiling, the Non-Swivel mount makes it easier to adjust the angle of your light.

If you want your light overhead and close to the ceiling, this is the simpler mounting option.

Drop Ceiling

The Drop Ceiling option attaches to a compatible suspended ceiling grid.

Drywall Ceiling

The Drywall Ceiling option uses a magnetic ceiling mount and requires compatible 12–14 gauge steel mounting surfaces to be properly installed at the ceiling.

Need the materials for installation? An optional Drywall Ceiling Installation Kit is available and can be added to your order.

Want to position your light lower?

If you want your light positioned farther down from the ceiling, choose the Swivel Ceiling Mount and add a compatible adjustable extension rod.

The extension rod allows you to position the light lower in the room. The Swivel Mount itself does not raise or lower the light. . 

Instead, the swivel adds movement at the ceiling mounting point, providing an additional safety feature if the lowered light or extension rod is accidentally bumped.

Select Drop Ceiling or Drywall Ceiling before adding the system to your cart.

Drywall Ceiling: Requires a compatible 12–14 gauge steel mounting surface for the magnetic ceiling mount.

An optional Drywall Ceiling Installation Kit is available if you need the installation materials for your setup.

No Drop Ceiling installation kit is offered.
