Ceiling Single Drop System

Not every studio has walls you can mount to—or room for traditional backdrop stands.

The TogDrop® Ceiling Mount Single Backdrop System gives you a ceiling mounted backdrop system for hanging a single backdrop overhead while keeping your shooting area open.

Choose between Drop Ceiling and Drywall Ceiling mounting options based on your studio. Both give you dedicated overhead mounting points for your backdrop crossbar without requiring wall-mounted backdrop hardware or traditional floor stands.

Hang your backdrop from the ceiling

Moving your backdrop mounting points overhead keeps traditional backdrop stand legs out of your shooting area and gives you more usable floor space for clients, posing, props, and lighting.

Two fixed ceiling mounts create the mounting points for your system, while J-Hooks support your backdrop crossbar from above.

The system can be used with cloth, paper, or canvas backdrops within the system’s weight limits.

Choose your ceiling type

Choose Drop Ceiling or Drywall Ceiling when ordering so you receive the correct ceiling mounts for your setup.

Drop Ceiling

The Drop Ceiling option is designed for compatible suspended ceiling grid installations.

Two Fixed Drop Ceiling Mounts create the overhead mounting points for the system, while two J-Hooks support your backdrop crossbar.

A separate Drop Ceiling installation video is provided to show you how to properly attach the mounts to a compatible suspended ceiling grid.

Drywall Ceiling

The Drywall Ceiling option uses two Fixed Magnetic Ceiling Mounts to create the overhead mounting points for your backdrop.

The magnetic mounts require compatible metal mounting surfaces to be properly installed at the ceiling.

Need the materials for installation? An optional Drywall Ceiling ONLY Installation Kit is available and can be added to your order.

How the system works

Once the correct ceiling mounting points are installed, the J-Hooks provide overhead support for your backdrop crossbar.

Your backdrop hangs from above instead of being supported by traditional backdrop stands on the floor.

This gives you a photography backdrop ceiling mount that keeps the mounting hardware overhead and more of your shooting area available.

In a real session

You need a dedicated backdrop position, but you also need the floor around it available for your client, props, lighting, and the way you move while photographing.

Instead of placing traditional backdrop stands on either side of the set, your backdrop crossbar is supported from the ceiling.

Your backdrop stays where you need it, and the floor below remains open.

For photographers trying to maximize photography studio space, moving the backdrop mounting points overhead can reclaim floor space that would otherwise be occupied by stand legs.

INSTALLATION

Select Drop Ceiling or Drywall Ceiling before adding the system to your cart.

Drywall Ceiling: Uses Fixed Magnetic Ceiling Mounts and requires compatible metal mounting surfaces at the ceiling. An optional Drywall Ceiling ONLY Installation Kit is available if you need the installation materials for your setup.

• Drywall installations require mounting the included 12 to 14 gauge steel strips, which provide the magnetic surface for the TogDrop® Magnetic Bases. See installation video below.
• Supports up to 20 lbs on each side when installed correctly.

No Drop Ceiling installation kit is offered.

Not included: Light stands, metal walls, poles, backdrop crossbars, clamps, lights, and backdrops are purchased separately. Only the components specifically listed above are included with the system.
